Jean-Marie Poiré
Jean-Marie Poiré is a French director, screenwriter, producer, and actor. He began his career as a photographer and singer, before transitioning to writing and directing. He first gained prominence through his work with the comedic group Splendid, notably with hits like Le père Noël est une ordure (1982) and Papy fait de la résistance (1983). He later developed a successful partnership with Christian Clavier, directing films such as Les visiteurs (1993) and Les anges gardiens (1995). Poiré is known for his dynamic directing style, characterized by fast-paced, jumpy editing, sometimes featuring over 1,000 shots per film.
