The Inquisitor
This program brings together several film duos, exploring the unique dynamics of face-to-face encounters. These interactions can take the form of a chase, a direct confrontation, a tense meeting behind closed doors, or a spectacular final showdown. Antagonists, doubles, adversaries, or alter egos: these are all troubled relationships that unite and tear apart the protagonists, between fascination and aversion.

This animated short explores the connections between sex, love and technology. A woman connects to the Internet. She not only embraces technology but surrenders to it entirely as she sends her entire body and soul to her electronic lover. In this world of Pandora's boxes, sexual desire and dehumanizing machine intertwine till they're finally and brutally disconnected.
Two girls were strangled and raped. Circumstances point to the local notary as the most likely suspect. The police inspector summons him on New Year's Eve, and a face to face meeting takes place in the confines of the room.
Claude Miller
Claude Miller was a French film director, actor, and screenwriter. He began his career in cinema as an assistant to renowned filmmakers such as Robert Bresson and Jean-Luc Godard. He then worked as a production manager for François Truffaut, notably on Les deux anglaises et le continent, while also directing his first short films under Truffaut’s mentorship. In 1976, Miller made his first feature, La meilleure façon de marcher, born out of indignation toward racial and sexual intolerance. Following a second feature and a brief stint in advertising, he directed Garde à vue (1981), an adaptation of John Wainwright’s noir novel with dialogue by Michel Audiard. The film earned him the César Award for Best Writing and was a commercial success. Miller also played a pivotal role in launching Charlotte Gainsbourg’s career, giving her first major roles in L’effronté (1985), which won the Louis Delluc Prize, and La petite voleuse (1988). In 1998, he won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival for La classe de neige. His final film, Thérèse Desqueyroux, was selected as the closing film of the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
