Serge Turgeon, best known as the founder of Montreal’s summer screening series Film Noir au Canal, is also a short film director who has been making a name for himself in recent years. Strongly influenced by the aesthetics of genre cinema as developed in Italy (where his films are produced), he stands out for his ability to craft intriguing atmospheres that perfectly serve the fictional worlds he depicts.

A woman chooses to face an enigmatic entity that appears in Venice every hundred or two hundred years. A fictional encounter presented in the form of a poetic thriller.

In Venice, an art historian comes to realize that her brilliant mind won't be enough to solve the mystery surrounding the disappearance of an unknown woman. In addition to having to regain the use of her intuition, she will also need the help of an array of colorful characters from her community.

Serge Turgeon
Serge Turgeon is a filmmaker from Montreal. He is the founder of the Film Noir au Canal festival and has served on the Board of Directors of the Cinématheque québécoise. In 2021, Serge directed his first short film, Arcano Veneziano, a poetic thriller shot during the pandemic. Trench, his second work, is best described as a ''Venetian thriller''. His great sources of inspiration are American Film Noir and Venice.
