Without Roland Béguelin & Marcel Boillat, no Canton of Jura!
Programmed and presented by Jerry White (University of Saskatchewan), who is interested in European cultural minorities and their representation in cinema, this program brings together two documentaries on the history of the Jura autonomist movement in Switzerland, with a particular focus on the 1970s.
Presented by Jerry White
Thanks to Roland Béguelin, general secretary of the Rassemblement Jurassien, and Marcel Boillat, founder of the Front de Libération du Jura – two solitary men whose intelligence and tenacity brought the canton of Bern and the Swiss Confederation to their knees – the canton of Jura exists.
