It's official: the Cinémathèque québécoise will host the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF) Congress in 2025!

Since 1938, The International Federation of Film Archives brings together the most important institutions dedicated to film heritage in the world. The annual conference is a key event for the film conservation and archival community to share their experience and collaborate on various projects.

"The Cinémathèque québécoise's bid to host the 2025 Congress of the International Federation of Film Archives was enthusiastically welcomed by the Federation's steering committee and general assembly. Welcoming the delegates is a way for us to thank the FIAF for having supported the development of our Cinémathèque since its foundation in 1963. We want this congress to be a showcase for our dynamism and the synergy between the public and private institutions that make Montreal a great city for cinema," said Marcel Jean, Executive Director of the Cinémathèque québécoise.
