He has been awarded multiple César Awards, including three for Best Director — in 2006 for The Beat That My Heart Skipped, in 2010 for A Prophet, and in 2019 for The Sisters Brothers. He has also won a number of prestigious awards, such as the Palme d'or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival for Dheepan and the Jury Prize at the 2024 edition for Emilia Pérez. Audiard's films are known for their stylized and often violent direction, combining genre cinema with art-house sensibilities. His works frequently revolve around sophisticated narratives and elusive, ambivalent characters, navigating dark, tense worlds that often blur the line between reality and the surreal.
