Synopsis

In 1860s New England, a mother raises her four daughters while her husband is away at war. There is the eldest Meg who is ready to get married, the fierce Jo, the fragile Beth and the youngest Amy who regularly enrages her sisters. The sisters meet Laurie, the grandson of a wealthy neighbor who will give them a lot of excitement. He befriends Jo, an independent spirit who prefers to put her efforts into becoming a writer rather than looking for love. One day, Dad gets sick and Mom goes to his bedside...

Greta Gerwig

Greta Gerwig (born August 4, 1983) is an American actress, screenwriter, and director. She first garnered attention after working on and appearing in several mumblecore films. Since the early 2010s, Gerwig has collaborated with her partner Noah Baumbach on several films, including Greenberg (2010) and Frances Ha (2012). Gerwig has had two solo directorial ventures, the coming-of-age films Lady Bird (2017) and Little Women (2019), both of which earned nominations for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
