Diary of a Country Priest
Menace Ruine is an apocalyptic drone folk band. Geneviève Beaulieu and S. de la Moth agreed to curate a carte blanche film selection, which will be presented ahead of their concert at the Cinémathèque on October 30. Their eclectic and thought-provoking selection blends films by renowned directors with hidden gems, avoiding American cinema to better celebrate the richness of international filmmaking.
Winner of four prizes, including the International Award, at the Venice International Film Festival 1951
Barely appointed parish priest of Ambricourt, a young priest faces hostility from the villagers. Through his diary, he recounts his sufferings. An adaptation of Georges Bernanos' novel of the same name.
