Je me soulève
The mission of the Centre d'art et essai de la Cinémathèque québécoise (CAECQ) is to primary program Quebec-made documentaries and independent fiction, as well as international documentaries, animated and foreign films, while encouraging opportunities for meetings between the public and the artists. Its programming is presented in conjunction with the Cinémathèque québécoise’s under the label New releases.
Twenty young actors are brought together for a creation lab by stage directors Véronique and Gabrielle Côté, to create a collective work at one of the great national theatres. Over a full year, they scour contemporary Québécois poetry to tap into the spirit of the times.
Hugo Latulippe
Hugo Latulippe has been an active member of the film and television industry since his stint on Radio-Canada’s La Course destination monde in 1994-95. After learning the profession from the masters of Quebec’s direct cinema at the National Film Board of Canada, he founded Esperamos, a company whose television, Internet and film projects, shot in Quebec and around the world, tackle “the great issues of our time.” His films have been selected in the most prestigious festivals and have won numerous distinctions.

Pour la suite du monde
Comme documentariste, je suis habitué à travailler avec des non-acteurs et à bien préparer le terrain pour tourner. Là, avec des comédiens, c’était différent. Par contre, ils ont fait quelque chose qu’ils ne sont pas appelés à faire souvent : ils ont accepté de se livrer à la caméra, d’aller dans ce qu’ils sont, avec ce que ça a de déstabilisant.
